The best travel systems (stroller + car seat) in 2026

A travel system is a stroller sold with a matching infant car seat and base. The seat stays buckled in your car; when you park, you lift it out and click it onto the stroller without waking the baby.

We rank them by safety and comfort first, then value, ride and build. Remember that infant car seats are outgrown at 30–35 lb or 30–32 in — the stroller is what you'll keep using afterwards.

How to choose

Car seat limits

Most included infant seats fit 4–30 or 4–35 lb and up to 30–32 in. Higher limits buy you a few more months.

Stroller after the car seat

Check the toddler seat: does it recline, face you, and carry 50 lb? That's the part you'll use for years.

Base included

All the systems here include a car base. A second base for another car is sold separately.

Weight

The stroller frame plus a 7–11 lb car seat adds up. Lift the combined weight before you buy if you'll do it daily.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use any car seat with any stroller?

No. Strollers accept their own brand's infant seats directly; other brands need an adapter, if one exists. A travel system avoids the guesswork.

How long does a baby use an infant car seat?

Usually 9–15 months, until they reach the seat's weight or height limit. Then you switch to a convertible car seat, which doesn't click into strollers.

Is the Doona a travel system?

It's a car seat with built-in wheels — a travel system in one piece. It's outgrown at 30 lb, after which you'll need a regular stroller.
